What is Meilisearch?

Meilisearch is a fast, typo-tolerant full-text search engine written in Rust with a developer-friendly REST API. It returns results in under 50 ms and supports custom ranking, faceting, and filtering.

Run Meilisearch in Even

Even Stacks launches Meilisearch as a managed container on your own machine. No compose files, no manual setup.

Open the Even Stacks panel in Even. The container engine starts on demand.
Find Meilisearch in the one-click services and click Launch.
Even pulls the image, starts it on port 7700, and serves it over trusted HTTPS at https://meilisearch.localhost.

Drive Meilisearch with your AI agents

Even ships an MCP, so any agent you run inside Even (Claude Code, Codex, and more) can operate Meilisearch directly, at both the UI level and the container level.

Through the Even MCP an agent can run commands inside the container, build against the service, and read its logs to debug. It runs commands inside the container, reads its logs, and for web apps opens and clicks through the interface in Even's own browser pane. Ask once, for example "set up Meilisearch and get it ready", and the agent handles it end to end.

How agents reach it: Primary interface is the REST API at http://localhost:7700; create an index with POST /indexes, add documents with POST /indexes/{uid}/documents, search with GET /indexes/{uid}/search?q=. A mini search playground is at http://localhost:7700. The master key (MEILI_MASTER_KEY) is required for all write operations.
